This monitoring system includes an Accu-Chek Aviva Connect Meter with batteries, Accu-Chek FastClix Lancet Drums, Accu-Chek Aviva Plus Test Strips, Accu-Chek Aviva Control Solution and an Accu-Chek FastClix Lancing Device. The Accu-Chek FastClix Lancing Device was ranked as the least painful lancing device technology against all leading competitors.
How to use this glucometer
Before you begin testing, make sure the date and time and date on your glucometer are correct and make any adjustments if necessary.
You must first load a lancet drum into your lancing device to get it ready for use. The lancet counter will initially show a number 6, meaning that you have 6 new lancets left. A used lancet drum has a red stripe on the white end. You cannot reuse a used lancet drum. You should then adjust your lancet depth by turning the comfort dial.
Before removing a test strip from the test strip container, make sure to wash your hands with warm, soapy water and dry them thoroughly. Dirty or wet hands can affect your test results and may spread infection. Once you have removed a test strip, use it immediately and close the container tightly to prevent moisture from ruining the remaining test strips.
Next, you can insert the test strip into the glucometer in the direction of the arrows, which will turn the meter on and display “Preparing to test”. This monitoring system is intended to be used with blood samples from the fingertips only. When the “Apply drop” text appears, obtain a blood drop by pressing the lancing device firmly against the side of your fingertip. Press the release button all the way down to prick your finger. Then touch the end of the test strip to the blood drop, making sure to not get blood on top of the test strip. The display should shortly read “Analyzing” when there is enough blood in the test strip.Click to read more Click to read less
